Purpose Statement for the Policy section of the NAHN Website
The Policy Committee upholds NAHN's mission and advocates for the integration our Mission with related public policy issues. The Committee addresses the challenges and opportunities of providing optimal care for Hispanic populations through collaboration with private, public, and federal entities in matters of public health, including development of strategies that optimize access and delivery of health services to overcome health inequities.
Through the discussion and action of the Board of Directors and the membership, the Committee develops priority position papers and statements. Members of the policy committee welcome the opportunity to serve as NAHN representatives on boards, commissions, task forces, and grants; and to develop endorsement policies and guidelines for externally-funded sources.
