General Conference Information

Who Should Attend?

Our program is designed for nurses, nurse educators, researcher, clinicians, nursing students, and anyone interested in learning about successful best practices in nursing and related research as it correlates to Hispanic health issues.

Conference Tracks

The conference is planned around three tracks:

  • Track 1:Leadership
  • Track 2: Education/ Research
  • Track 3: Clinical Practice

Conference Objectives

At the end of the conference, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify the frameworks and approaches through healthcare reform to develop future Hispanic nursing leaders.
  • Differentiate educational and research models that will lead to advocacy to promote health in Hispanic communities.
  • Integrate evidence-based research into clinical practice through healthcare reform.

Continuing Nursing Education

  • Pre-conference (NLEC Program): This activity provides up to 8.0 contact hours. Seating limited to 50 paid registrants — first come; first served.
  • Conference: This activity provides 11.0 Nursing Contact hours.
    Provider is the NAHN Orange County Chapter. Provider number #13873 for 11 contact hours. Provider approved by California Board of Registered Nursing.


Conference Attendance Policies

Attendee Cancellation, Substitution, Refund

The conference registration fees are refundable, minus a $100 processing fee, if your cancellation is received via e-mail to srgutierrez37@gmail.com no later than Sunday, July 1, 2012. Attendee substitutions are allowed, but notification must be made in writing. After this date, under no circumstances will refunds, credits, or substitutions be granted. No refunds or credits will be given to "no shows." Refunds are processed after the conference (no later than 30 business days).

Guest Attendance Policy

All conference activities (including educational sessions, meal functions, exhibit hall, etc.) are exclusively reserved for paid conference attendees. Non-registered guests (including children, family members, colleagues, etc.) are not allowed in the conference areas. Badges provided at registration are required for entrance into all functions and will be strictly enforced.

NAHN Conference Modification Or Cancellation

NAHN reserves the right to modify the courses' schedule or program as necessary. NAHN also reserves the right to cancel this conference, in which case a full refund of the registration fee will be provided. We are unable to refund any travel costs (flight, hotel, etc.) in the case of NAHN cancellation. NAHN cannot be held responsible for the cost of a nonrefundable airline ticket or flight change in the event of a course cancellation or the rescheduling of the program.

Recording And Photography Clause

NAHN reserves exclusive right to record (audio and video) and/or photograph all conference proceedings for use in marketing materials, presentations and course content sales.

The registered participant grants permission to NAHN (and its designees and agents) to utilize the participants image, likeness actions and /or statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication, or reproduction made of, about, or at, the activity without further authorization or compensation. Participants may not use video or audio recording devices during the program or scheduled event.

Other Terms

Upon registering in any continuing Nursing Education activity, the participant agrees that the National Association of Hispanic Nurses and their affiliates, and all personnel associated with the program are not responsible or liable for any injuries or other damages sustained by the attendee in connection with the scheduled activity, and the participant hereby releases each of them from any claims against them arising directly or indirectly from any such injury or damage.

Registering for any continuing nursing education activity constitutes acceptance of all these terms.

Registration at this time does not include the gala ticket. A gala ticket may be purchased for $150.

*Gala Dinner Tickets: In order to receive your complimentary gala ticket, you must check the box during registration. You do not automatically receive a ticket by registering.

A complementary gala ticket is provided to individuals who check the box requesting the gala ticket and have paid registration prior to July 2, 2012 (payment must be received in the office by this date).

After the cutoff date beginning July 2, 2012, the gala ticket will cost $150.00 each.

The gala ticket is non-refundable and non-transferable. The participant's name will be printed on the Gala ticket. If you are bringing a guest to the gala, be sure to include the purchase of the additional ticket at the time of registration.

1. Registrations are required to be completed online. Phone, handwritten/typed registrations will not be taken. Refer to the brochure when registering.

2. Registration must be made online at:

3. Complete each registration page carefully, clicking NEXT at the end of each page. You have the option to go back to a previous page if you need to make a change; just click PREVIOUS button.

4. All registration fields require an answer. If an answer is not provided, you will not be able to advance to the next page.

Conference Payment Information

1. Credit Card payments must be made online at the time you register. If someone else besides yourself will be paying with a credit card for your registration, complete the registration form online and e-mail them your confirmation email which has the link to the payment section.

It is important to register first, and then have the payer reference your name on the payment options so we can match the payment to registration.

2. Check or money order should be mailed with a copy the registration Pay Page Form. If a check is mailed without the Pay Page Form, it cannot be applied to your registration.

Registration Confirmation

Upon receipt of payment, a confirmation will be e-mailed to the e-mail provided on the online registration form. This process takes about three (3) business days.
