NAHN Events

One of the most important benefits of membership in NAHN is the opportunity to share with other Hispanic nurses. NAHN events are the ultimate networking opportunity featuring concentrated educational events, constant opportunities for support, mentoring, celebration and relationship growth. NAHN’s national conferences can offer you unique opportunities to grow personally and professionally.

The largest event is NAHN’s Annual Conference. This three-day event opens with a large exhibition and poster session area, continues over the conference with meals and other networking events combined with plenary, concurrent and poster sessions, and ends with a gala where scholarships are awarded and prestigious national awards are presented. The annual conference is usually held in July.

A second national event focused on leadership development is NAHN’s Leadership Retreat. This event has been limited exclusively to Chapter Presidents, Chapter President-Elects and members of the Board of Directors. For 2018 the meeting will be opened to other NAHN members who are interested in exploring leadership development and a more intense understanding of NAHN policies, procedures, activities, goals and objectives.

Here is additional information on the next NAHN event.

2018 Leadership Seminar

The Leadership Conference promotes both the mission and goals of NAHN. One of the objectives of NAHN is to advance the educational, professional, and leadership skills of Hispanic nurses in order to increase the number of Hispanic researchers, administrators, and educators. The Leadership Conference is held in January of each year. The purpose of the Leadership conference is to:

  • Recognize, develop, and respect a variety of leadership styles that promote the organization;
  • Enhance personal leadership skills that positively impact the organization and community;
  • Develop skills to improve the management and sustainability of individual chapters which may include communication skills, conflict resolution, health policy advocacy, and membership growth.
