Relevant NAHN Experience:

I am an active member of the association, very involved at the national and local level. I bring experience in health policy, advocacy, diversity and inclusion and mentorship to nursing students. Platform Statement

I offer my experience in leadership; health policy and advocacy to continue strengthen the mission of the association. The work we do to meet the healthcare needs of the Latino population is critical. As members of this association we are the frontline of patient care, we play a critical role in identifying the gaps our community faces, including the need to have more Latino nurses in healthcare. I believe, and research shows that strengthening the pipeline for more Latino students entering nursing programs and advocating for more Latino faculty members are necessary to meet the health and wellness needs of our community. lt is clear that fostering a more diverse healthcare workforce will require actions; I am committed to support efforts by NAHN to improve data collection, gather research and recommendations on removing the barriers, and bring awareness of the underlying issues related to Latino Health and workforce diversity.
