Platform Statement

As a notable role model, I possess diverse strengths in leadership that are grounded in a global perspective from a background rich in a growing network with federal agencies, the private sector and academia. I am one of the few Hispanic nurses who has held executive management positions both in the Department of Veterans Affairs and the United States Army Reserve. I have for some time been in a pivotal position to utilize my knowledge, skills, and expertise to recommend health care policy and practice for diverse populations and for the elimination of disparities in health care for these populations. I position a positive image of Hispanics, the culture and the nursing profession at a national scale through my advocacy for social justice and equity of care to vulnerable and underrepresented populations. I will serve the National Association of Hispanic Nurses with the same energy and passion as originally envisioned.
