2016 Call for Nominations for NAHN Elected Positions

Washington, DC (February 10, 2016) — The National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) Nominating Committee invites members to submit candidates for the 2016-2018 NAHN Board of Directors. Positions to elect are President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and five (5) Board of Director positions. Members will also elect three (3) Nominating Committee members.

Open Positions for the 2016-2018 Election

NAHN will be setting the stage to move to staggered boards starting in 2016. For that reason, some of the positions in the 2016 election will be for a three-year term. Below is a list of the positions that will be open and further below there is a table that covers the terms of the different positions of the 2016 Board of Directors.

  • Three Nominating Committee Members (2-years term)
  • Officer Positions
    • President-Elect (2-years term)
    • Secretary (3-years term)
    • Treasurer (3-years term)
  • Five Board Members
    • Three Board members (3-years term)

Nominations Process-Notification and Timetable

Members are encouraged to self nominate for office by completing the required paperwork.  Those whose name is submitted to the nominating committee in response to the Call for Nominations will be notified to accept nomination and complete the required paperwork.

All candidates must submit the required information by March 30, 2016. The Slate of officers will be presented to the NAHN Board of Directors and posted on the Internet by April 13, 2016. Campaign guidelines will be mailed to every member placed on the slate. 

All terms of office begin at the conclusion of the NAHN Annual Meeting.  All newly elected members are urged to attend the Annual Meeting during which installation of officers will occur.

All completed nomination forms and required materials must be submitted electronically to the NAHN office by midnight ET on March 30, 2016.
