NAHN presents First Virtual Conference and Training
Washington, DC (September 15, 2015) — Today, as we mark the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month, NAHN is pleased to announce its first virtual conference to educate nurses, students and other healthcare professionals serving multicultural communities on how to educate Latinos on the benefits of the Affordable Care Act.
This training module helps prepare nurses and other health care professionals at the front lines to educate, and support multicultural individuals and families, particularly Latinos, on understanding the fundamentals of the ACA, assisting them through applying for health care coverage through their state Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) or the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Attendees will be able to connect the importance of health insurance literacy to ultimately addressing health disparities.
The conference is free. NAHN is an approved provider by the District of Columbia Board of Nursing Provider # 50-14680 and CEs will be provided to those attending either a session or all sessions.
The National Association of Hispanic Nurses is thankful for the support of iCohere in providing this virtual conference. Training and education is funded by U.S. HHS Office of Minority Health Grant Number #6 CPIMP141072-01-01.
