Three University of Phoenix Full Scholarships Awarded

Washington, DC (September 24, 2013) —NAHN continues to celebrate the distribution of over $200,000 in scholarships and related services to NAHN members this year at its Annual Gala during the 2013 NAHN Annual Conference.  Three NAHN members received full BSN or MSN scholarships funded by the University of Phoenix.

"We are pleased to have the occasion to support the educational aspirations of the NAHN community," said Luis A. Tavel, MPA, National Director of Latino Affairs at the University of Phoenix.  "Latino nurses are essential in today's healthcare system, and the University of Phoenix is proud to be a contributor to the recipients' future success in the nursing field."

Recipients of the full scholarships were:
• Celines Bruno-Camuy, RN, MSN(s)
• Maria Guzman, RN, BSN, PHN, MSN/FNP(s)
• Patricia Ramirez, RN, BSN, MSN(c)

This was a very competitive year, with one of the highest number of applicants. Many thanks to our generous funders who are actively helping increase the professionalism of Latino nurses.
