National Association for Hispanic Nurses and
International Formula Council to Continue Partnership

Washington, D.C. (November 19, 2012) — The National Association for Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) is proud to announce their continuing partnership with the International Formula Council (IFC) for a second year. NAHN and IFC will work together to deliver tools and information about infant feeding to Hispanic nurses who are tremendous resources providing a great deal of support to new moms.

NAHN President, Jose Alejandro said, "We are excited to continue our partnership with IFC. Both NAHN and IFC fully support breastfeeding as the best choice for feeding a baby and infant formula as the only safe, nutritious alternative." Mr. Alejandro continues, "There is a lot about breastfeeding and infant formula that nurses need to know in order to help educate new mothers on how to nourish their infant safely and effectively. By working together, NAHN and IFC can provide information to nurses, who in turn can teach new mothers."

Infant feeding information will be made available for NAHN members to share with their patients. Materials will also be made available to members on the NAHN web site, in both English and Spanish. "We are pleased to continue to work with NAHN and believe many new mothers will benefit from learning about infant feeding that can help to ensure their babies are happy and grow and develop successfully," says Mardi Mountford, IFC Executive Vice President.
