NAHN Bylaws Amendments

Washington, DC (October 10, 2013) — At the NAHN Annual Business Meeting, held in conjunction with the 2013 NAHN Annual Conference, NAHN Members voted to accept or reject changes the to NAHN bylaws.Almost all the proposed changes were accepted. Please see below a short summary of the changes approved.

  • Article 2, Section 1: removing specifics on the NAHN office location.
  • Article 4, Section 1d: allowing non-Latino student members to join NAHN.
  • Article 4, Section 1e: removing the licensing requirement out of the Emeritus membership category.
  • Article 6, Section 2: changing the number of Board members (see below)
  • Article 7, Section 1 and Section 5: removing the office of the vice president
  • Article 7, Section 4: allowing the president to appoint a Board member to represent him when the president is unable to attend a meeting, etc. Also, allow the President to be an ex-officio member of committees.
  • Article 8, Sections 1, 4, and 8: removing the Development and Public Relations Committee from the By-laws
  • Article 16: approving the use of the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised
