Grand Canyon University Renews Membership with National Association Of Hispanic Nurses

Washington, DC (April 24, 2013) — The National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) is pleased to announce that Grand Canyon University has renewed its NAHN Corporate Membership to advance the health in Hispanic communities, and help promote and advocate educational, professional and leadership opportunities for Hispanic nurses.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with an organization that plays a critical role in helping nurses provide the best possible care to a burgeoning population of Hispanic residents in metropolitan Phoenix and other parts of the nation,” said Dr. Anne McNamara, dean of GCU’s College of Nursing and Health Care Professions.

Given the growing and viable opportunities for Hispanic nurses, GCU’s team will continue to work closely with NAHN to host webinars on industry developments, and share information and ideas with the organization’s members.

“Our collaboration with GCU is ideal, because it enables us to engage our members in lifelong learning,” said NAHN’s President Jose Alejandro, Ph.D., RN-BC, MBA, CCM, FACHE. “This is more critical than ever, given the new demands on nurses and the evolution of nursing education.”

GCU’s College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is ranked first among bachelor’s degree programs in Arizona, with the highest pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examinations – ahead of University of Arizona, Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University. The college also has a nursing curriculum online and a satellite location in Albuquerque, N.M. In addition, GCU has established partnerships with leading healthcare organizations so students can apply their skills in a practical setting.
